On 26th April, a group of 5 people, including Lord Fong Chan Seng (CHEA SOEUN), Lord Chua Dee Hwa (THAI VAN), Executive Vice President of Cambodian Cambodian Council General Association, and SOK HUY, Secretary General of Cambodian Council General Association, paid a visit to our university. Xie Yonghua, Secretary of the Party Committee and President of the University, and Sun Yanfei, Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Vice President of the University, received the guests. Both sides exchanged views on the construction and development of Cambridge University of Applied Sciences.
Xie Yonghua, on behalf of the university, extended a warm welcome to Lord Fang Cancheng and his delegation, and introduced the basic situation of the university and the internationalisation work. Xie Yonghua pointed out that as the first public undergraduate vocational school in China, the university is committed to building a "national leading and world-class" vocational university, and is one of the earliest vocational colleges in China to explore internationalisation. Xie Yonghua said, in 2023, the university will cooperate with Cambodian Cambodian Chinese Council General Association to build Cambodian Chinese University of Applied Science and Technology (CCAUST), which is the first overseas university of applied technology in China's vocational education, and the first batch of six undergraduate majors such as network engineering technology according to the demand of Cambodian economic and social development. At the present stage, the university should push forward the accreditation, teacher training and teaching management of the relevant majors, so as to make achievements and brands. It is hoped that the General Council of Cambodian Chinese will continue to support the construction of the campus and the laboratory and training room of the University of Applied Sciences, and endeavour to make it the largest, highest quality and most influential university of applied sciences in Cambodia, so that it can provide talents support for the sustainable development of Chinese enterprises overseas and the social and economic development of Cambodia.
On behalf of the Cambodian General Council, Fang Chan Seng thanked the university for its warm reception and said that the Cambodian General Council attaches great importance to the construction of Cambodian University of Applied Sciences and Technology (CUAST). The university has made outstanding achievements in a short time and received great attention and support from the Cambodian government and other related parties. Cai Dihua introduced the original intention and development history of FCCC. The General Council of Cambodian Chinese has been committed to the cause of Chinese language education for a long time. The "Chinese + Vocational Skills" education promoted by our school has expanded the field of Chinese education and improved the economy and applicability of Chinese education. The fast progress of the cooperation between GCCC and our school is due to the full cooperation of both parties and the strong support of both governments. In the process of cooperation, both sides always trust each other and work hand in hand. He hoped that the university will continue to promote the construction of Cambodian Chinese University of Applied Sciences and effectively improve the level of education to meet the needs of local development in Cambodia.
After the discussion, Sun Yanfei accompanied the guests to the exhibition hall of Huang Yanpei's thoughts on vocational education, and to the Intelligent Manufacturing Comprehensive Training Centre, Advanced CNC Technology Training Centre, Engineering Technology Training Centre, BYD New Energy Vehicle Training Centre, Aero-engine Training Centre, Boeing Aircraft Teaching and Training Base, Urban Railway Electromechanical Comprehensive Training Centre, and Cross-border E-commerce Practical Base for a site visit, and discussed the experimental practice and practical training with the heads of relevant departments and backbone teachers. and backbone teachers on the construction of experimental training room, school-enterprise cooperation and talent training and other aspects of exchange. Cambodian General Council of Cambodia (CGCC) cooperated with our university to build Cambodia University of Applied Sciences (CUAST), which is one of the most important cooperative organisations in our overseas education. The visit of the delegation of Cambodian-Chinese General Council further enhanced the understanding and recognition of both sides, gathered the consensus of cooperation and clarified the working direction.
